1. Membership Eligibility
1. Membership is open to individuals and families who support the objectives and values of the Association.
2. Members must provide accurate and complete information when applying for membership.
3. The Association reserves the right to verify membership details, including the number and relationship of persons included under a Family Membership.
2. Membership Period
1. Membership is valid for twelve (12) months from the date of approval and payment.
2. Membership must be renewed annually to maintain active membership status and associated benefits.
3. Voting and Election Rights
1. Only current registered members are eligible to vote at General Meetings and Association elections.
2. Only current financial members may nominate for elected positions, subject to eligibility requirements contained in the Constitution and Election Rules.
4. Member Conduct
1. Members must conduct themselves respectfully and in a manner consistent with the objectives of the Association.
2. Members must comply with the Association’s Constitution, policies, rules, and lawful directions of the Committee.
3. The Association may suspend or terminate membership where a member engages in misconduct, harassment, discrimination, bullying, or conduct that brings the Association into disrepute.
5. Membership Benefits
Membership benefits may include:
– Eligibility to nominate for committee positions.
– Member discounts or subsidised event tickets where offered.
– Receipt of Association newsletters and updates.
The Association may amend membership benefits from time to time.
6. Privacy
1. Personal information collected by the Association will be used for membership administration, communication, elections, events, and compliance purposes.
2. Member information will not be disclosed to third parties except where required by law or authorised by the member.
7. Refund Policy
Membership fees are generally non-refundable. Refunds will NOT be provided in the following circumstances:
– Failure to participate in Association activities or events.
– Suspension or termination of membership due to breach of the Constitution, policies, or code of conduct.
– Disagreement with election results, committee decisions, or Association policies.
– Failure to use membership benefits.
– Duplicate payments made in error.
– Other exceptional circumstances approved by the Committee.
The Committee may, at its sole discretion, approve a refund in exceptional circumstances, including:
– Duplicate payments made in error.
– Administrative errors by the Association.
– Other exceptional circumstances approved by the Committee.
8. Acceptance
By submitting a membership application and paying the applicable membership fee, the applicant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Membership Terms & Conditions and the Constitution of the Association.
